Western Kentucky attractions have no limits when it comes to fun and festivities. From boating to fishing to festivals, anytime of the year is time for fun in Western Kentucky!

The first week-end in June will find bargain hunters galore roaming US Highway 68 during the 400 Mile Yard Sale. The four day event is an attraction that draws thousands of bargain hunters from across the country. Winding along the scenic route of US 68 from Aurora to Maysville you never know what kind of treasures and bargains you will find. One shopper bought a picture for $40.00 that ended up being valued at $1200.00! The 400 Mile Sale is a great way to experience the quaint towns and friendly people of Kentucky.

Kenlake State Resort Park in Aurora, Kentucky is the destination for the area's hottest attraction; the Hot August Blues Festival. Held the last week-end in August the festival is one of the top summer events in the Lakes area. The two day festival features blues performers from around the world. Whether seated in the amphitheater or watching and listening lakeside from your boat the music will heat up your August week-end fun.

If hot and spicy is your style or you prefer thick and sweet, BBQ on the River in Paducah, Kentucky is where you’ll want to be. Held the last weekend in September there is live music, crafts, BBQ cook-offs, and tons of mouthwatering food.

The Annual Hunter’s Moon Festival in Grand Rivers, Kentucky has grown to become one of the largest fall festivals in the lakes area. The event includes activities for all ages. From beauty pageants to street dances, craft shows, Taste of the Lakes, and a parade filled with floats and bands, you won’t want to miss a moment of the three day event.

The city of Cadiz, Kentucky really hams it up during the second weekend in October for their Trigg County Country Ham Festival. There are free concerts, over 170 craft and activity booths including a petting zoo, and food booths with some of the best country ham in the world.

The Nature Station and the Homeplace at Land Between the Lakes offer daily events for the entire family. The Hummingbird Festival at the Nature Station is a must see event when visiting Kentucky Lake. Original 19th century buildings and farmland take you back in time. Watch as interpreters quilt, farm, and tell of life between the rivers.

If getting back to nature is what you crave, there are over 70 miles of trails at Land Between the Lakes for horseback riding and over 200 miles of hiking trails. Lighthouse Landing in Grand Rivers offers sailing opportunities for the beginner as well as the novice.

From big festivals to weekend celebrations to family activities, Western Kentucky will be a vacation spot to visit time and again!
